Part A: Plans and the licence
1. The publisher
Roster is published by STH Labs, the trading name of Stavros Thalassinos, sole proprietor, Greece (VAT/ΑΦΜ EL160320426), Thesi Alonaki, Prodromos, 84400 Paros, Greece. Roster is distributed as a direct download signed with an Apple Developer ID, not through the Mac App Store.
2. Plans, prices and the trial
Roster comes in two plans. Roster Free runs up to 3 agents at the same time, includes every safety feature (approvals, the permissions strip and session restore) and has no time limit. Roster Pro removes the agent limit and adds the Pro features listed on this website. It costs $39 or €39, paid once, and the first 100 licences cost $29 or €29 (the founding price), with the same terms. The EU price includes VAT. You are only charged for a licence you choose to buy.
The trial, then Free. Every install starts with 14 days of Pro, with no licence key, no account and no payment details. After that, Roster runs as Roster Free until a licence key is entered. Pro features pause and nothing is deleted: your schedules and settings stay saved and resume the moment a key is entered. The app says so once, in a banner you can dismiss: "Your 14 day Pro trial ended. Roster is now on Free: 3 agents at once, Pro features paused. Nothing was deleted." The trial start date is kept in the macOS Keychain on your Mac, so reinstalling does not start a new trial.
Pro licences are not on sale yet, so no payment is taken today, and these terms and the Refund Policy will get a new "Last updated" date before the first sale.
3. The Roster Pro licence
- One time purchase. A Pro licence is paid once. It is not a subscription and does not renew on its own.
- Updates for 12 months. A licence includes every update released in the 12 months after you buy it. You keep Pro forever on the last version released inside that period. After it, you can buy another 12 months of updates for $19 or €19. This is optional; Roster keeps working without it.
- One person, up to 3 Macs. A licence is for one person, on up to 3 Macs that person uses. It may not be shared between people.
- Moving to another Mac. Deactivate a Mac from the licence panel in the app to free its place. Up to 3 Macs can be removed in any 30 days.
- Licence checks. Each Mac is activated once with our activation server and checked again about once every 30 days. Pro keeps working offline for 30 days after the last check. What is sent is set out in the Privacy Policy, section 3. If you lose your key, the lost key page sends it again to the email you bought with.
- Features marked coming. Features this website marks as coming are plans, not part of what you buy, and have no promised date. If one ships while your updates period runs, it is included.
- Sold directly. Roster is not sold through the Mac App Store. Licences are sold directly by STH Labs, with payments handled by Stripe, so Apple's purchase and refund rules do not apply. Refunds and the right of withdrawal are set out in the Refund Policy.
4. Beta software
Roster is in beta. Features may change or be removed, and some may not work as described. Keep your projects under version control and your own backups, as you would with any tool that edits files and runs commands. Reports of problems are welcome at stavros.thalassinos@sthlabs.net.
5. Consumer rights unaffected
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including Greek Law 2251/1994 and the EU consumer protection rules that apply where you live.
Part B: Using Roster
6. Licence
We grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable licence to install and use Roster on Macs that you own or control, for your personal or internal business use, including commercial software work. A Pro licence also has the limits in section 3.
7. Restrictions
You may not:
- resell, rent, lease or redistribute Roster or its installer;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law (including your rights under EU Directive 2009/24/EC on interoperability);
- remove or alter proprietary notices or the code signature; or
- use Roster to break the law.
8. Your agents and your code
Roster starts programs on your Mac on your instructions: coding agents, shells, git and editors. Those programs can read and change files and run commands. You decide which agents to run, in which folders, with which allow rules, and which refused commands to allow, retry or run. You are responsible for reviewing what an agent does before you rely on it, commit it or ship it. Roster shows you diffs and marks agent changes to help with that review; it does not check that the changes are correct or safe.
9. Third party tools
Roster works with tools made by others, such as Claude Code (Anthropic), git, lazygit and NeoVim. They are not part of Roster, you install them yourself, and their own terms apply to your use of them, including any fees or usage limits of an AI provider. We are not responsible for those tools or their availability.
10. Ownership
Roster, including all intellectual property in the software, its design, its mark and its name, is and remains owned by Stavros Thalassinos. You own the licence, not the software. Your code, your prompts and your agents' output are yours; we claim no rights in them. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic. Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.
11. Updates
New builds are published on this website. We may add, change or remove features at our discretion. Some behaviour depends on your macOS version, your system settings and the versions of the third party tools you have installed, which are outside our control.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and without limiting your mandatory consumer rights (section 5), Roster is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. This matters more than usual for a beta that runs commands: do not rely on Roster or on any agent where an unreviewed change or a missed run would cause harm.
13. Limitation of liability
Under Article 332 of the Greek Civil Code, an agreement made in advance that excludes or limits liability for wilful misconduct (δόλος) or gross negligence (βαριά αμέλεια) is void. So is one that excludes liability even for slight negligence in terms that were not individually negotiated, such as these, or for harm to life, health, freedom or honour. We therefore do not exclude or limit our liability in any of those cases, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under Greek Law 2251/1994.
In practice we are liable to you under the general rules of Greek law. What an agent does depends on the agent, its provider, and the instructions and permissions you give it, which we do not control (sections 8 and 9). If a court finds any part of these Terms unfair under Article 2 of Law 2251/1994, that part does not apply to you and the rest is unaffected.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece and, where applicable, mandatory EU law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep any protection the mandatory law of your country gives you, and you can bring proceedings in the courts where you live wherever the law gives you that right. Otherwise, disputes go to the courts that have jurisdiction under the applicable rules.
